Its eco-friendly production process, involving fermentation and dehydration, requires minimal environmental impact compared to the resource-intensive practices of conventional leather production.

By understanding how tea choices impact the visual and tactile qualities of the SCOBY, we gain insights into potential variations in the resulting kombucha leather.

In the kombucha experiment, I explored the influence of different teas on the color and texture of the SCOBY. Tea types were selected based on their distinct colors after boiling. This material exploration sheds light on how tea choices impact kombucha leathers’ visual and tactile qualities.
